I’m sorry, but this E! reenactment of the Michael Jackson trial is the creepiest thing to hit television since…well, Star Jones at the Oscars 3 nights ago.
I know that E! (gotta remember that exclamation point) did the same thing with the O.J. trial in the mid-90s, but at least that trial had a Perry Mason/Law and Order vibe to it (even if the crime itself was real and horrifying). This whole case is about a guy in his 40s doing stuff to kids (ALLEGEDLY). The host even had to say a few times, after showing a part of the trial, that the details of the case are disturbing. Of course, after getting opinions from the three legal talking heads, he immediately went to another clip, with more creepy details.
It’s not even entertaining in a "this is so bizarre it’s funny" sort of way. Maybe that will change when Jackson decides to take the stand, and the guy playing Jackson (who looks like Jackson, about 4 1/2 plastic surgeries ago) has to actually speak instead of just sitting at a table pushing his glasses up on his nose. How do glasses stay on Jacko’s nose anyway? Epoxy? Special ear clips?
