Read. Listen. Watch. Eat.

I haven’t done one of these in a while, but here’s some stuff I’ve been enjoying lately:

My old USA Today friend Whitney Matheson has started a new weekly pop culture newsletter you should subscribe to. (She’s also on Patreon.)

I Miss You When I Blink, the new essay collection by Mary Laura Philpott, is really great.

I don’t know if you’ve been following the Hollywood fight between writers and their agents but Joel Stein has a funny piece about it.

On Sunday, MeTV is going to start showing The Dick Van Dyke Show again. I don’t know why it’s on at 11 p.m. and only Sunday nights, but I’m just happy to see it on TV again. It starts off with a five-week event where creator Carl Reiner picks his favorite episodes.

People are always asking me, “Hey Bob, what’s your favorite pen?” (note: nobody actually asks me this). My answer: the Uni-Ball Jetstream 1.0 (Black).

Not sure why Weezer decided to come out with albums filled with cover songs, like “Africa,” “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” and “Take On Me,” but I’m glad they did.

I’m addicted to Marie Callender’s Banana Cream Pie. No, seriously, I’m looking into joining one of those rehab facilities I see advertised on TV all the time. And I’m losing weight so I must be doing something right. (It’s the subject of my new book, The Banana Cream Pie Diet, coming soon.)
